In 2018, we became aware of the growing crisis of immigrant children being separated from their parents and held in government custody as a result of the current administration’s zero-tolerance policy. Fast-forward to 2020, parents of 545 children separated at U.S. and Mexico border have not been yet located. Join us for a special documentary screening of Separated; Children at the Border, this documentary will help you understand the origins of family separation and through our panel conversation we’ll cover ways to advocate for families still separated. Our panelists include, Gena Thomas, Author of Separated by the Border, Jennifer Podkul, Lawyer at Kids in Need of Defense, Hannah Vickner Hough, Director of National Immigration Programs at World Relief and hosting the conversation is our Executive Director, Yonathan Moya.
