Be A Part of What God is Doing
Over the past few weeks, as immigration continues to dominate headlines and impact communities across the country, I’ve been reflecting on what it really means to show up, not just with answers or opinions, but with a posture of listening. Again and again, I’m reminded that the peacemaking work of Border Perspective is not something we are creating on our own, but something God is already doing, inviting us to pay attention, to listen, and to join in.
Recently, during one of our service-learning experiences, a ministry leader shared that the most meaningful moments of their trip weren’t tied to our field sessions or site visits, but to the stories they heard, the testimonies from local pastors and community leaders. They shared that listening to these stories deeply affirmed the kind of leaders they feel called to love, mentor, and equip through their own work of forming bicultural, spiritually rooted leaders.
Their reflection stayed with me.
At Border Perspective, we don’t aim to give people quick conclusions about immigration. Instead, we invite you into the discipline of listening. Listening to pastors serving congregations at the margins, border patrol agents describing the weight and value of their work, and migrant believers whose faith has been shaped on the move.
A ministry leader put it this way: Immigration is not only a policy issue, but a discipleship issue.
I couldn’t agree more.
The peacemaking work we do at Border Perspective requires disciples who can sit in the tension between law and compassion, justice and mercy, truth and love, without rushing to flatten complex realities. This type of discipleship requires humility to recognize that our faith is often enriched by the spirituality of those on the margins; believers who know dependence, perseverance, and hope in ways many of us have never had to learn.
Supporters like you allow us to faithfully participate in what God is already doing — creating space for intentional encounters, not to persuade, but to form. Not to sensationalize, but to shape people of faith who can listen deeply, love faithfully, and lead wisely in divided times.
As we close out this year and look toward 2026, I want to share that as of today, together, we’ve raised over $133,000 toward our $150,000 annual goal.
As we prepare for 2026, your generosity is helping empower our peacemaking work ahead. Your support ensures that more leaders, churches, and students can step into service-learning experiences, and that our local partners can continue their faithful peacemaking work.
Every gift helps cultivate exactly the kind of leaders the Church needs right now. Leaders that are grounded in Scripture, shaped by relationships, and formed through proximity rather than distance.
Would you consider making a gift by December 31, 2025 to help us complete this final $17,000 stretch and step into the coming year well-equipped and faithful?
Thank you for continuing to show up with us.
Your partnership truly matters.
With gratitude,
Yonathan Moya
