Connecting Mission Leaders brings together Presbyterian mission leaders from ECO, EPC and PCUSA churches. This is a great opportunity for missiological reflection, worship and prayer, building relationships for new collaboration in mission, sharing best practices, and more. CML is an ideal gathering for local church mission leaders who are passionate about God’s mission in the world and who want to be more effective mission leaders and mission catalysts in their local church contexts. Border Perspective will have a table exhibit at the conference with information about our 2020 border trips.
Speaking to a group of Young Adults about the ministry opportunity on the border.
Liberating Evangelicalism - Decentering Whiteness
September 19-21, 2019, Chicago
Christian evangelicalism has often been equated with partisan politics and the faulty assumption that all evangelicals are white. Liberating Evangelicalism seeks to challenge this assumption by creating a space for a biblically-based, people of color centered movement that is open to all who seek to build a Jesus-centered vision for social justice. A space where people of color are at the center rather than the margins of the conversation, a place to build visions of liberation and inclusion, and a place for belonging and community-building with peoples across diverse political and theological perspectives. Our team will be hosting a gallery-like exhibit and engaging in dialogue about how God is moving through the small, grass-root immigrant church on the South Texas and Mexico border.
Border Perspective will be sharing about our founders border journey on Friday night, September 14 at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts 1011 S Washington Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55415. The event is from 7pm- 9:30pm.
On (Saturday) September 15, Border Perspective has been selected to exhibit at the annual Twin Cities Zine Fest. TCZF 2018 will be held September 15th from 11 am-5 pm at Hennepin County Library - Minneapolis Central, 300 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis, MN 55401.
Border Perspective will host a gallery like exhibit about the border and will be sharing as a part of an immigration panel about how Christians in America are called to respond to those about to lose the DACA program? We will also hear from Dreamers among us how the end of DACA is effecting them and how the church can support them.
